Students’ Seminar: The department organized a joint student seminar on 23.02.2018 on the following topics:

  1. 1st Year (Hons.) students spoke on Marxism, the Indian Constitution
  2. 2nd Year (Hons.) students spoke on New Social Movements, Regional Organization

Wall magazine: The topic was US Presidential Election. Educational Tour to the West Bengal Legislative Assembly was organized on 05th March 2018.

Special lecture organized by the Dept.:

  1. Prof. Bishnupriya Roychowdhury, reputed faculty member of Behala College, on 18.09.2017, delivered an extension lecture on ‘SAARC and Its Implications for South Asia’.
  2. Dr. Naved Jamal, an eminent faculty from Jamia Milia Islamia University on 27.03.2018 delivered a special extension lecture on ‘Changing Contours of Indian Foreign Policy’

Participation in Youth Parliament

The students of the department participated in the youth parliament sponsored by the Government of West Bengal and organized by the Behala College on 19.11.2017.

The Department organized a UGC-sponsored Seminar on ‘Media, Politics and Economics in Post Globalization India’ in September, 2016.
